The Repti Glo fluorescent bulbs have a higher light output and diversify their energy more efficiently in larger terrariums. Exo Terra has a full range of each type, Repti Glo 2.0, Repti Glo 5.0 and Repti Glo 10.0, in order to meet any terrarium size. The longer sizes can be placed over several terrariums.
The Exo Terra Repti Glo 10.0 is more associated with a desert environment and thus a very high UVB output. Deserts receive more direct sunlight compared to more humid regions because there are fewer clouds are present, there is a lower humidity and because there are no plants and trees block the light. Desert-dwelling species are therefore more exposed to UVB light than other reptiles. The lamp can also be used if there is, a dense mesh above the enclosure in order to ensure UVB-penetration. Mesh with fine mesh UVB penetration may reduce to 50%.
